Had a MAPP report generated identifying my most personal, most intrinsic motivators. MAPP is an assessment survey that seeks to surface our internal motives and is particularly useful for career planning objectives. Who thinks any HR will be interested in this will be a bit naïve, as I had highlighted before about deficiencies of organizational “human resource”. Forget the crap taglines of people are our greatest resource and all that, cos those are crappy bullshit, and the larger the organization the crappier. In any instance, if you want to take the opportunity to take your own career planning into your own hands, you could do much worse, or another way to put it is this is the best way, to determine your options.
My personal MAPP summary as below… I’d need to strategise my letter then!
We are pleased to present you with the highlights of top six motivators! These were automatically generated when you completed the 71-question MAPP assessment based on your specific answers. This report is as unique as you are!
Your report has six bullets – one bullet for each of your top six motivators. Each motivator is explained followed by advice on how to apply this to your career.
- You thrive on change, and know how to capitalize on it. It is important that you have enough change and variety in your work.
- You derive personal satisfaction from directly helping others. Position yourself so you can work directly with people to help them.
- You are motivated to cause good, growth and gain in the lives of others. You are also insightful as to the personality, intentions, emotions, ethics, values, and moods of people. You are effective in helping to develop other employees or interacting with customers
- You desire to share ideas with the intent of helping people.
- You understand the meaning of ideas and words, and use them effectively in written or oral communication. You have the ability to express key concepts.
- You naturally generate lots of new ideas and ways of doing things. You like to be included in brainstorming sessions, or whenever new and different solutions must be found. You are also highly intuitive, and likely to suddenly "just know" the solution.
