It's my Mom's birthday today, coming a day after my mother-in-laws. A nice quirk of fate that seems to intertwine both mine and my other half's fate. It is also a day which is instructive in the few pointers for life that I need to carry with me always.
1. The need to plan the day
Always easy to underestimate its impact but may be the most significant factor in ensuring success of daily deliverables / objectives.
2. Power of du'a
The du'a recited for the strength and continued harmony of the rakyat and govt of Sgor in the friday khutbah in Bangi. A reminder of my lackadaisical attitude towards faith and hope in Allah and leaving all matters to Him. Also, a reminder of how lacking I am in preparation for the next jump, although I know very well how desperately prepared I need to be.
3. Physical fitness
Managed to cross the swimming pool 5 times. Not bad. Need to develop confidence to tackle the deepend next, or sometime in the future.. ;-)
4. SM's politics
Amusing, but also instructive, how someone so limited in ability, but possessing courage and conviction to speak when required gets his third promotion in about a year and a half. Food for thought, eh. Also, don't be taken in by his praises and sweet talk. Believe, and it will be to your detriment.
5. Good effort, but...
Confused state after first attempt at selling. On looking back, I have a good product, but the lack of self-confidence, preparation and reluctance to seize the moment let me down. Believe! and deliver!
6. Good day, but...
Spoilt in the end. Yes, every one has their weakness, lack of self-control etc etc. For me, I need to understand and deliver my interests. Know what is right, differentiate from wrong, and stand firm. You know when you are right.
And May Allah grant me mercy and guidance.
